Sharing our journey in Christ for over a decade
For more than ten years, our website has served as a digital bridge connecting our convent with Orthodox Christians and seekers around the world. What began as a modest project has grown into a living platform for spiritual dialogue and witness.
Our mission
We established this website to share our lived experience of walking with Christ. Through our articles, reflections, and stories, we open the doors of our convent to reveal both our victories and our struggles along the spiritual path. We believe that true Christian witness comes not from presenting a veneer of perfection, but from honestly sharing how God's grace works through our human frailty.
Our content
Our pages are filled with the lives and wisdom of the saints who continue to inspire us daily. These holy men and women serve as our guides and intercessors, showing us that sanctity is possible in every age.
We also share stories from our ministry—the work of our hands and hearts in service to others. Whether caring for those with special needs, supporting struggling families, or creating beautiful liturgical arts, our work reflects the compassionate example of our heavenly patroness, Saint Elisabeth Romanov. Her life of sacrificial love and service to the most vulnerable continues to illuminate our path and shape our mission.
Our team
From the beginning, our editorial team has consisted of believing brothers and sisters from our community—both lay people and monastics working together in harmony. Each member brings their unique gifts and perspectives, united by our shared faith and commitment to spreading the Gospel message.
Currently, we maintain two language versions of our website. Our German-language section is overseen by Nun Elisabeth Wuertenberger, whilst Nun Maria (Yakovleva) leads our English-language team. Both work alongside dedicated, believing correspondents who help us share the beauty of Orthodox faith and life with readers worldwide.
We welcome your voice
Our editorial team remains open to your ideas and topic suggestions. We view our website not as a one-way communication channel, but as a space for dialogue and mutual enrichment. If you have questions you'd like explored, stories to share, or topics you'd like to see addressed, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Together, we continue building this online sanctuary where souls can find encouragement, wisdom, and the light of Christ's love.
In Christ,
The Editorial Team of St Elisabeth Convent
