We draw our inspiration from the life and works of our patron saint, Grand Duchess Elizabeth. After the assassination of her husband, she went on to found a convent dedicated to ministering to the poor. She was martyred by the Bolsheviks.
The prototype of the Moscow myrrh-streaming icon of the Tsar-Martyr was painted in 1996 in California, by the icon painter Pavel Tikhomirov, commissioned by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
Some people do not live long but leave a lasting trace. They are made for Heaven, and their journey leads them upwards. Of them, Vasily Roslyakov was one. He projected an example of exceptional wisdom, faith and benevolence.
Saint Nicholas continues to teach us valuable lessons and has many more in store for the people today, and for generations to come. He lived a long time ago yet today he is still one of the most widely known and revered Christian Saints.
