On the eve of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos, members of our congregation shared their thoughts and feelings about the moment when they consciously joined the Church and began their life with Christ.
February 7 is the birthday of the Venerable Porphyrios Kavsokalivite, one of the most famous Athonite elders of the twentieth century. He reposed in the Lord on December 2, 1991, and was canonised on December 1, 2013.
In the late 12th century, the Most Holy Theotokos bestowed Her grace upon us through an extraordinary icon — a small copper cross bearing the image of the Mother of God and the Divine Child on one side, and the Crucifixion on the other.
As we honour the feast of the Holy Apostle Heradion of the Seventy, we joyfully extend our warmest wishes to one of our cherished priests, Father Rodion Alkhovik, as he celebrates his name day.

The Nativity Fast sanctifies the last part of the year and is established so that by the day of the Nativity of Christ we will purify ourselves by repentance, prayer and abstinence. As a result, we could piously meet the Son of God who came to this world
