The Orthodox Church approaches the Great Lent which will start on March 3rd according to the Julian calendar. In order to prepare for the Lenten journey, the Church gives us four pre-lenten weeks to help us understand why we fast.
In our convent, we too strive to fulfil this will of the elder, praying for unity in the words of Fr Sophrony every day. Our confessor, Father Andrey Lemeshonok, often quotes the elder in his conversations with parishioners and sisters.
On 22 August, we celebrated the birthday of our Convent. For many, the time spent at the Convent has become a treasure and a valuable experience and a source of inspiration. We asked nun Olga to talk about the highlights of her monastic life.
